Connie Cramer Creek

Bio:

Connie is a multi-disciplinary artist who is a painter, ceramic and sculpture artist as well as a teacher. She earned a Bachelor Degree in Art Education from Kansas State University and a Masters in Fine Art: Painting from University of Missouri Kansas City. In 2021 she began teaching at Metropolitan Community College in Kansas City after retiring from Pembroke Hill School where she taught while serving as Chair of the Visual Art Department and as the Director of Leadership Programs. Connie also worked as an AP Art and Design Reader. In addition to teaching AP Art & Design there, Connie taught Ceramics, Sculpture, Jewelry, Painting, Drawing, and Photography. Throughout her career, Connie was invited to take part in programs at the School of the Art Institute of Chicago and Kansas City Art Institute. She received various grants to travel and study in Mexico (Folk art of Oaxaca), England (studying Jane Austen’s works), Colorado (Anderson Ranch), New York, and New Mexico (Printmaking workshop). Connie exhibited artwork in shows from Key West, FL to Portland, OR earning numerous awards including Exceptional Educator by University of Iowa’s College of Education. In recent years Connie co-founded the Lake Quivira Arts Council; an organization whose mission is to elevate the enjoyment of art and to provide art experiences that may enhance a sense of community. She has shown her work and received awards in numerous states from Oregon to Florida.
