"2026 - Folly Theater Art for Art"
December 1st through January 20th, 2026

The Folly Theater Art For Art Auction is a benefit online silent auction with an in-person reception at the Folly Theater (300 W 12th Street, Kansas City, MO 64105). Guests can enjoy champagne, wine, soft drinks, and light refreshments while browsing the artwork and placing bids. This event celebrates the Folly’s commitment to connecting the community to all art forms in new and exciting ways. Proceeds will support creative programming, including our Jazz Series, Americana Series, and our education-enriching Folly Kids’ Series.

Submitting Art

We invite you to contribute-

  • Up to Five Works
  • Valued up to $5,000
  • Sized up to 48” x 48”

The deadline for submission is Tuesday, January 20, 2026.

Artwork will be submitted through Buttonwood Art Space for review.

Delivering Selected Art

If your art is selected, you will be notified by Friday, January 23rd

All selected pieces must be delivered to the Folly office (114 W 11th Street, Suite 150, Kansas City, MO 64105) on

  • Thursday, January 29 or Friday, January 30 from 9 am to 5 pm, or
  • Saturday, January 31 from 11 am to 12 pm.

The Auction

Online bidding will begin on April 13 at 10 am and close at 4 pm on April 26. The in-person reception will take place on Sunday, April 26, 2026, from 1 to 4 pm.

Minimum Bids: Minimum opening bids will be set at 25% of the artist’s estimated retail value of the work.

In exchange for your artwork donation, the Folly will give you:

  • 2 tickets to a Folly series performance (more shows to be announced) and 4 tickets to the April 26 auction reception
  • 35% of the final auction sale price of your artwork
