Bio:

I started painting with Lester Goldman of U.M.K.C. as a child, working in oils, and painted on and off through school. I was introduced to pastels in a JCCC class and loved the soft texture and immediate application of color. But life, (and making a livelihood) intervened. I was led to establish my own private art gallery called The Corporate Art Collection and sold the works of other artists to the corporate community. One of those artists was the wonderful pastel artist Donna Aldridge. who became my tutor and mentor. I took classes from her throughout the years, and again was interrupted by life to become a landscape designer, painting with plants. I have recently resumed my painting with a renewed desire to express my love of nature and flowers through my pastels. My vision and goal is to show the effect of light on my subjects through highlights and shadows and their many colors.
