Bio:
From a very young age Mike has been captivated by open meadows, streams and marshes of the low grass prairies found in the central states. So it’s only natural that this land has become the singular focus of his creative endeavors. As a painter, he attempts to capture these landscapes that inspire him through the medium of pastel. Mike strives to transform a two dimensional surface into one which creates the illusion of space, time, and form, resulting in a convincing depiction of his chosen scene. In painting these landscapes, it is his hope to engage in a joyful self reflection of a specific place and time while also connecting with the viewer by evoking a similar memory from them. The resulting painting now becomes a shared experience between artist and audience. Mike is a Signature Member of MAPS
