Bio:

Kathi Grose – InspiredArtByKathi G Affiliations: Juried Glass Artist and Board member of Summit Art, Juried Glass Artist, Best of Missouri Hands, Missouri Artisans Assoc. Kathi’s fascination for painting started in the 1980’s when she was introduced to porcelain art painting. She expanded her knowledge of porcelain art painting under a local porcelain artist for several years. She created and sold her functional painted porcelain art in a Greenwood Missouri Antique store. In 2005 Kathi visited a local glass art studio and fell in love with glass art and mosaics using stained glass. She studied through many resources and expanded her knowledge of glass art creations. She also studied and practiced techniques in acrylic painting styles. Glass art is her love and passion. She currently spends her time researching, designing and creating a variety of Stained Glass, Fused Glass and Stained Glass Mosaics in her Lee’s Summit, Missouri home studio. Artist’s Statement I always have several art projects in process at the same time. Creating a variety of 2-D and 3-D glass art projects keeps my mind, my hands and my heart happy. I enjoy the detailed process of research, learning, experimenting with new techniques, creating designs, choosing glass colors, scoring glass, skillfully fitting each piece, firing fused glass in my kiln or adding copper foil and soldering stained glass. My style is eclectic and inspired by classic techniques as well as adapting new technologies and modern designs. My color pallet features a variety of bright and vibrant colors. Glass art is beautiful and I enjoy sharing my creations with others.
